Drift
High in the Colorado peaks
tiny babies swim at my toes
swirling wet magic
among the dancing green blades.
Clear ripple rhythm
speckled white foam
busy buzzing all around
each to their own.
Shielding the eddy
stems swoosh, then sway
hollowed out under
a fish flowing cover.
Pools of reflection
rocks skip and shimmer
the perched preen
content in choice.
Sun giving bright
warmth deep down inside
a passing dark hue
drops briefly fall.
Plentiful and diverse
pristinely whole
this meandering river
feeds me too.
